Miraval Côtes De Provence Rosé

 "PRETTY  IN  PINK

I love this wine before I uncork it!  You could get intoxicated just looking at the curvaceous bottle.  It is a champagne bottle and theorange-red elixir inside looks prestigious.

It hails from the ancient private valley in the village of Correns in the south of France and is jointly owned and produced by Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the Perrin family.

Tasting:
As I swirl it around the glass the wine is beautifully bright.

On the nose it is evocative, smelling of fresh wild strawberries, raspberries, rose petals, red berries and light herbs

On to the palate, I at once know this is an elegant wine, fresh, zippy with acidity leaving a delightful tang of lemon over the deeper notes of strawberry and peach.   There is a trace of stoniness which I always enjoy in a lighter wine and it has a well-rounded feel to it.  This is a serious wine and distinctly Old World.

Food Matches are numerous but would be fabulous with smoked salmon, lobster, sea bass, pizza, poultry, sushi, Nicoise Salad and sharp aged cheeses.  Of course, it would be utterly amazing with Christmas turkey and all the trimmings as well.

Try it this weekend as an aperitif in your garden.  You will not be disappointed.

Cheers!"
